Hey everybody James here from AllAmericanGuardian.com. Today we’re going to be talking about my favorite content management system WordPress. We’re not talking about WordPress dot com but WordPress dot org. OK. There is a difference and we’ll talk about that and different video. But today we’re just going to talk about the top seven reasons why you should be using wordpress for your Web site.
#1: It is the most popular content management system out there. It powers about a third of the entire internet. 30 percent is the last figure that I saw. So we’re talking millions and millions of websites of all the content management systems that are that people are using wordpress as use 60 percent of the time and that’s over webs over platforms such as Joomla, Drupal, DotNetNuke, Magento and SharePoint.
#2: It’s completely free use. There’s nothing to purchase to download that there’s no fees ongoing fees of any sort. It’s completely free to use every time that it updates. The update is free to download and install. So you never have to pay for it.
#3: it’s got a very good reputation and it’s extremely powerful. It can handle a one page website or it can handle a 10000 page Web site.
#4: it’s open source. So basically that means that the code is readily available to anyone that wants to download it and you can use it for whatever you want. You can hand it hand that code over to a designer and have them make something special for you or you can just use duds is the way it comes. You can basically do whatever you want with a code.
#5: It’s extremely flexible. So kind of playing off that open source code you can give this to a designer and they can put put it to use with some type a new plugin or new feature that you want some different functionality that you want to give your Web site. There’s already millions of plug ins out there available. So that flexibility is there for sure.
#6: it’s extremely easy to maintain. There’s really not a whole lot you have to do. There’s some simple security measures that you can put into place which we’re going to talk about later videos. But keeping all your plug ins up to date and just actually going into the back end logging in and putting new content out adding new pages and new blog post this is all these are all very simple tasks and that’s how they designed it. So that pretty much anybody could log in and take care of their Web site if they want to. Now there are some people who still think you know that’s a little bit too technical for them and that’s when they hire a company or a guy like me to come in and take care of their their website or their blog for them. But overall most people should be able to log in as long as they’re willing to and they have the time to learn some simple task and be able to keep their site up to date.
#7: This goes back to number one the reason why it’s you know it being the most popular content management system out there number seven it’s used by some really huge brands. So we’re talking about the New Yorker, BBC America, Bloomberg, Sony Music, MTV News, The Walt Disney Company, The New York Times, The Rolling Stones, AMCs The Walking Dead, Mercedes-Benz, The Harvard Gazette and Beyonce uses it. I mean, I know you’ve all heard of all these names before these are huge huge brands. And if they rely on WordPress then it should be good enough for your business as well.
